dancing in the dark

Many of you would recognize the title from the song Perfect by Ed Sheeran and would think; “Oh, finally. Ally’s become a proper teenager and got a boyfriend!” Two words.

Hell. No.

No, the reason I took the lyrics of Perfect as my title, is because (besides being one of the most romantic songs I’ve ever heard) I tapped into my philosophical side and realized that it had a great deal related to our faith in Christ!

Dancing in the dark. How beautiful. Lemme explain…

Dancing. All you need is an iPod and your groove. *then you be like Bruno Mars, dawg! drippin’ in finesse*  Anyway, dancing can mean doing a routine. You have to be dedicated, committed and faithful to do it completely and properly.

And the second part of the lyric. In the dark. I mean, Christianity is like this age-old tradition passed on from one generation to the next. I bet every Christian reading this has done some Christian customs influenced by family and location. So, we believe even though we have no clue about what happened or what’s going to happen.

If you’ve been suffering lately and think that the Lord is abandoning you, believe me, he makes you cry then so that you can laugh later. Romans 8:18 says that the pain that you’ve been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming. So if you’re feeling in the pits, just remember this verse.

The Book of Hebrews, as told by scores of my Sunday School teachers, is also the book of faith. It tells one the examples of those who believed and what their unending faith gave them.

Isaiah 40:31: But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isn’t that beautiful? There will come a time when all our troubles will be put to rest and we will soar like eagles and we will never be weary.

So I hope you liked my first Christian post (as opposed to those YLFC reblogs) and share it with all the believers. *cue Believer by Imagine Dragons*
